REQUIREMENTS:
- Single parents or married couples can adopt a child from Russia;
- Single parents must be at least twenty-five years of age.
- Previous marriages are permissible.
- Other children in the home are acceptable.
HIGHLIGHTS:
- Children from 7 months old are available for adoption.
- Most children are Caucasian.
- Healthy children are available for adoption with no "waiting list".
- Two trips are required and both parents must travel.
ADOPTION PROCESS:
On the first trip (the length of the first trip is approximately 7 days), the parents meet their adoptive child, giving their agreement to proceed with and complete the adoption of these particular child/children. The request is sent to the Ministry of Education in Moscow, and within one month we receive an answer. After the answer is received, all the required documents are turned into court, and the family is appointed a court date. This way, the adoptive family takes their second trip.
On the second trip, the family attends court, receives a passport and a birth certificate for their adoptive child/children, and visits the American Embassy in Moscow where they get an American visa for the child. The length of the second trip is approximately 10 days.
Upon arrival in the Moscow airport, you'll be met by one of our representatives. Our representative will assist you with accommodations / hotel reservation (if needed), travel plans including transportation, translation along with any other needs you may have. Our coordinator will also schedule the appointments with the American Medical Center and Embassy in Moscow during the second trip.
