REQUIREMENTS:
- Single parents or married couples can adopt a child from Uzbekistan;
- The Age limit is at least twenty-five years of age and no more than 55 years of age.
- Previous marriages are permissible.
- Other children in the home are acceptable.
-Parents must be at least 15 years older than the adopted child
-Couples should be married at least one year.
-Previously divorced individuals may also adopt.
HIGHLIGHTS:
- Children from 7 months old are available for adoption.
- Healthy children are available for adoption with no "waiting list".
- Two trips are required and only one parent needs to take the second trip.
- Adoptions from Uzbekistan can take 6 – 12 months.
ADOPTION PROCESS:
Two trips are required and both parents are required to travel to the Uzbekistan from two to three weeks for the first trip to visit your child and attend the necessary official appointments, including the special commission called the HOKIMAT. The second trip will be for approximately one week where the visa is applied for at the Embassy. Only one parent needs to take this second trip.
The dossier has to be notarized and legalized. After that the dossier will be sent for an authentication by the Uzbek Embassy in your country. After that the dossier sent to Uzbekistan for translation into Uzbek or Russian. It is submitted to the Ministry of Education in Uzbekistan for authentication.
